Profitability of the cod farming industry is significantly restricted by the reduction in growth associated with precocious sexual maturation. In order to address this serious bottleneck we need to understand the molecular basis of somatic growth in cod.

Hence, we are using state-of-the-art genomic approaches to identify the genetic networks that regulate growth in this species and to investigate how they are influenced by light and sexual maturation.
