GrowCod Project

During my stay in the Faculty of Bioscience and Aquaculture of the Bodø University College, I have been focused on the control and evaluation of sex-linked gene expression level in different tissues of the Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). I have worked on the androgen receptor gene (AR) and the estrogen receptor gene (ER) in cod. I have learned different molecular techniques like molecular clonning and RT-PCR technique. Obtained data extend our knowledge about sex differentiation process in cod. My research interest concerns fish cytogenetics and cytogenetic and molecular markers applied for fish gene pool conservation.
